Island Chicken Inasal is the best restaurant in Boracay, and it truly took me by surprise. At first glance, it looks simple, but it does not disappoint. We stayed in Boracay for a couple of days and ended up eating here almost every day.

Island Chicken Inasal serves up classic Filipino comfort food with a focus on Ilonggo cuisine. They have their signature smoky chicken inasal (grilled marinated chicken), pork sisig, and a variety of traditional Western Visayan dishes cooked the way locals love them. The food is full of flavour, and it’s a great place if you want a taste of the Philippines.

This is their Chicken Inasal, the standout dish, and the reason we kept coming back. You can choose from Pa-a (leg and thigh), Pecho (breast and wings), or Pak Pak (wings). It’s served with rice and achara — a tangy mix of pickled papaya and other vegetables that’s a classic side for fried or grilled dishes. There’s also chilli, calamansi (the Philippine lime) and sauces served on the side for those who love extra flavour.

They also have Halo-Halo, which is a popular Filipino dessert. If it’s your first time in the Philippines, you should definitely try it!

It comes with ube (a native purple yam) ice cream, jackfruit, and a mix of other sweet treats.

If you love fried banana, you have to try the Filipino Banana Langka Turon, which is basically a sweet banana spring roll.
While everything we tried at this restaurant was delicious, the chicken is definitely the highlight, which made it the best restaurant in Boracay for us. It tastes even better than it looks. I’d fly to Boracay again just for it — I’m still thinking about it now! The restaurant is conveniently located at D’Mall, but be prepared for a crowd during peak hours. It’s quite small, so make sure you don’t miss it. If you’re planning your trip, check out my guide on how to get to Boracay to make getting there easier.
